This film is based on the legendary childrens book by Tonke Dragt. It is nighttime, long ago. Five young men, among who is Tiuri, our hero, are keeping vigil by a ‘pale flame’ in a chapel. They are allowed to neither speak, nor react to any noise from outside. They must set their minds to the task ahead of them. Tomorrow they are to be knighted. But then… A knock at the door. A voice from out of the darkness: ‘Open up in Gods name!’
Won at the German Schlingel Film Festival 'Best Junior Film' from The Professional Jury as well as The Junior Jury. Was chosen Best Film at the Final Cut Film Festival in Marburg, Germany. Received a fourth award in Germany from the Children’s Jury at the Kinofest Lünen.
