Jacky was the first Chinese feature film in the Netherlands. As a young man, Jacky leads a solitary life with his mother in the Netherlands. Due to the ambivalent environment in which Jacky grew up, he has difficulty developing a clear vision of life. Too smart to deny this problem, yet too weak to master it, he lives his life without controllin... Shot in Super 16 and released in 35 mm print.
Jacky was an international success. It was amongst others selected for Un Certain Regard at the International Film Festival Cannes, 2000, the International Film Festival Pusan, Korea, 2000 and selected for the Variety Critic's Choice, at Karlovy Vary IFF 2000. It screened at more than 40 international film festivals in for example Buenos Aires, Götenborg, Tokyo, Sydney and Bangkok. Jacky was the first Chinese feature film in the Netherlands and was chosen as Best Dutch Film by the Dutch Press in 2000
