WERELD VAN STILSTAND
SHORT BY ELBERT VAN STRIEN, ACCENTO FILMS 2005 (edit, animation, grading, sound design and mix)
This film contains only photographs. We loaded the 5 megapixel photo's from the digital camera and cropped them to a cinemascope 2.35 frame in 2K resolution, made them black and white and added some animation like zooms, pans, deformation and one morph. To find a good editing pace was a challenging job because edits were never dictated by movement in the image. Also the sound design was a very interesting process since it contains almost only atmospheres and voice-over (and music offcourse). We decided not to use spot-effects, because it immediately turned the film into a radio show. Shot in digital photos, released in 35 mm Cinemascope.
This film was nominated for a 'gouden kalf' for best short on the Nederlands Film Festival in 2005 and selected for New Directors/New Films at the MoMA in New York City.
