The 16th Tribeca Film Festival in New York has awarded NOVEMBER with the award for Best Cinematography by DoP Mart Taniel. The award was given by actors Alessandro Nivola and Willem Dafoe, as announced by co-producer PRPL. Jury Comment: “We were particularly impressed by the high level of the cinematography of the films we’ve just seen which had very different styles and demands. One film was particularly audacious and showed supreme command of its visual language.”

Good news! Actress Olivia Lonsdale won a Da Vinci Award for her role as Daphne in the Telefilm SILK ROAD by director Mark de Cloe and scriptwriters Marc and Roeland Linssen. Last night the film was screened in Milan at the Milano International Film Festival in the presence of Olivia, Marc and Roeland. In addition to this prize, the film can also be nominated for best film by the audience, as announced by producer Rinkel Film. Congratulations Olivia!

Studio Vermaas started Sound Design for ‘ALLES VOOR ELKAAR’ (QUARTERLIFE). The feature by Danny Stolker is a modern life rom-com set in Rotterdam about four best-friends-forever. The four girls do all they can to reach their teenage goals before they turn 30. But it all gets a bit out of hand, so much that their relationships and even their friendship are put at risk. With Maryam Hassouni, Esmée van Kampen, Sarah Chronis and Yootha Wong-Loi-Sing.

NOVEMBER written and directed by Rainer Sarnet will have its international premiere at the Tribeca Film Festival 2017. The film has been selected for the International Narrative Competition as announced by co-producer PRPL. Rollling Stone magazine concluded about the film: 'It's as beautiful as it is profoundly weird-as-fuck’.

SILK ROAD has received the following 7 Da Vinci Award nominations: Best Directing - Mark de Cloe, Best Screenwriting - Marc Linssen & Roeland Linssen, Best Acting Performance Male - Gijs Blom, Best Acting Performance Female - Olivia Lonsdale, Best Cinematography - Rob Hodselmans, Best Music - David van der Heijden, Best Film - Rinkel Film. In case SILK ROAD wins one of these awards, the film will be screened at the Milano Film Festival where the audience can vote for Best Film. We will find out.

OF IK GEK BEN (AS IF I’M CRAZY) by director Frank Lammers wins its first international prize at Noida Film Festival in India. It was the Grand Jury Award according to Marc Bary of IJswater Films.

Monday March 6th all six 2017 telefilms had their premiere at the Vue theater in Hilversum. For these films Studio Vermaas provided AD (Audio Description) and did sound design and final mix for both SILK ROAD and DE TERUGKEER VAN DE WESPENDIEF (THE RETURN OF THE HONEY BUZZARD) which will be the first to be broadcast on NPO 3, Wednesday March 22nd @ 8.25 p.m.

Telefilm OFF TRACK directed by Sander Burger with Matthijs van de Sande Bakhuyzen, Reinout Scholten van Aschat, Ludwig Bindervoet got AD (Audio Description) with the voice of Julika Marijn. A raw roadmovie about twenty something year old Luuk and two friends looking for authenticity between the temples, partying backpackers and an illegal brothel in Ecuador. Does Luuk as a starry-eyed idealist have what it takes or is it all about himself? Oak Motion Pictures production OFF TRACK will be broadcast.

Marco is mastering the mix of the film BEYOND INDEX by visual-artist Gerald van der Kaap. It’s an art-film about a Chinese student who copies European paintings as a part-time job. Through the mysterious Yves, she obtains an insight to the meaning of the works which she is copying. Against the background of the current changes in modern-day China, this insight causes a turn of events in her own life. The color Blue on the screen also gets a new meaning.
