DRAGON GIRL wins Best VFX
Katarina Launing’s DRAGON GIRL (DRAGEVOKTERENS JUL) has won an Amanda Award for Best Visual Effects at the Norwegian International Film Festival. The lead role played by an animated dragon is created by Amsterdam based Studio Planet X. Studio Vermaas congrats VFX supervisor Dennis Kleyn and animation director Peer Lammers with their well-deserved award. DRAGON GIRL (DRAGEVOKTERENS JUL) can be seen in Dutch cinemas by December 1st.
DRAGEVOKTERENS JUL (DRAGON GIRL) wins at Giffoni
DRAGON GIRL by Katarina Launing got the Gryphon Award Best Film (6 to 11 years) at Giffoni Film Festival in Italy. Eleven-year-old refugee girl Sara and local boy Mortimer try to safe a stranded baby dragon at around Christmas time. DRAGEVOKTERENS JUL (DRAGON GIRL) premiered in Norway last Christmas and will come to Dutch and European cinemas by the end of 2021.
MARIONETTE wins at Fantasporto
MARIONETTE (REPREESSION) by Elbert van Strien wins Best Actress and Critics Award at the 41st Festival Internacional De Cinema Do Porto in Portugal. The international jury praised Thekla Reuten with her extraordinary performance. MARIONETTE can now be viewed on streaming services as Pathé Thuis, Apple TV, Ziggo on Demand and KPN on Demand. Meanwhile the film has been sold to 45 countries world wide.
