Studio Vermaas begins work on PARADISE TRIPS
We are excited to start audio-post work on the Belgian feature PARADISE TRIPS by Raf Reyntjens, starring Gene Bervoets. “Holiday bus driver Mario has spent his entire life shuttling old age pensioners to the sunny south with his own travel company 'Paradise Trips'. Today, Mario has to bring a motley crew of alternative partygoers to a psychedelic festival in Croatia. The journey soon turns into a fascinating trip that confronts Mario with his own prejudices and his long-lost son."
Director Rebecca Daly arrives in Amsterdam
Irish director Rebecca Daly is in Amsterdam at Studio Vermaas to start the sound work on her feature MAMMAL, the compelling story of a woman who has lost her son and develops an unorthodox relationship with a homeless youth. Their tentative trust is threatened by his involvement with a violent gang and the escalation of her ex-husband's grieving rage.
Premiere PARADISE TRIPS
Raf Reyntjens’ feature PARADISE TRIPS premiered in Antwerp. Release in Belgium will commence on august 19. Soon to be retired bus driver Mario has to bring a gang of neo-hippies to a Burning Man like festival in Croatia. This trip confronts him with his long lost son. With Gene Bervoets, Jeroen Perceval, Noortje Herlaar en Cédric Van Den Abbeele.
JONGENS and RABARBER nominated for an Emmy!
Two features that we worked on are both nominated for the same Emmy Award in the category ‘TV-Film / Miniseries’ – JONGENS by director Mischa Kamp and RABARBER by director Mark de Cloe. We are very proud of them both, but it’s difficult knowing that only one of them can win!
Marco Vermaas begins mixing MANNENHARTEN 2
Marco has started the mix of MANNENHARTEN 2, director Mark de Cloe’s new feature. Some of the film’s stars include Daan Schuurmans, Barry Atsma, Jeroen Spitzenberger, Hadewych Minis and Maartje van de Wetering. “A lot has changed in the lives of our men, but for these characters in the sequel to MANNENHARTEN, finding their true love turns out to be everything but a fairytale. So the search continues in full swing.”
