NFF screenings with sound design by STUDIO VERMAAS
At the NFF (Nederlands Film Festival) all nominated films will be screened. Of course IN BLUE with 6 nominations including best SOUND DESIGN, L’ÉTÉ ET TOUT LE RESTE, with best Short Film nomination and FREE FIGHT, with best Televison drama nomination. Television series ANNE+ is nominated for the NFF Debut Competition. Also Telefilm GELUKZOEKERS (FORTUNE SEEKERS), DORST and ALLES VOOR ELKAAR (QUARTERLIFE) will be screened. NIEMAND IN DE STAD opens the festival with AD by Studio Vermaas.
Six GOLDEN CALF nominations IN BLUE
We’re proud to announce that IN BLUE by Jaap van Heusden gets six nominations at NFF (Nederlands Film Festival). The nominations are for BEST FILM, BEST DIRECTOR, BEST SCRIPT by Jaap van Heusden and Jan Willem den Bok, BEST ACTRICE for Maria Kraakman, BEST EDIT by Jasper Quispel and BEST SOUND DESIGN by Marco Vermaas.
MARCO VERMAAS gets BEST SOUND DESIGN nomination
MARCO VERMAAS got nominated for BEST SOUND DESIGN at the NFF (Nederlands Film Festival). This time for his work on IN BLUE. After three earlier nominations for WIN/WIN in 2010, 170 Hz in 2011 and OF IK GEK BEN (AS IF I’M CRAZY) in 2016 Marco is very honored with his fourth nomination.
NFF nominations for L’ÉTÉ ET TOUT LE RESTE and FREE FIGHT
L’ÉTÉ ET TOUT LE RESTE and FREE FIGHT, both by Sven Bresser, with sound design by STUDIO VERMAAS are nominated for GOLDEN CALVES. Best Short Film nomination went to L’ÉTÉ ET TOUT LE RESTE. FREE FIGHT received 2 nominations: for Best Televison Drama and Best Actor Television Drama for both Chiem Vreeken & Aleksej Ovsiannikov. The GOLDEN CALF ceremony will be held at the NFF (Nederlands Film Festival) Friday October 5th.
World premiere for L’ÉTÉ ET TOUT LA RESTE
Short film L’ÉTÉ ET TOUT LA RESTE (SUMMER AND ALL THE REST) written en directed by Sven Bresser will have its world premiere at the 75th edition of the International Film Festival of Venice. The film is included in the Orizzonti Short Film competition and together with 19 other international short films it will compete for the Best Short Film Award. The Film Festival of Venice (BIENNALECINEMA2018) is from August 29th till September 18th.
JUST FRIENDS (GEWOON VRIENDEN) wins audience prize in Italy
Telefilm JUST FRIENDS (GEWOON VRIENDEN) has won the Audience Award at the Festival Mix Milano. It was not the first international festival where JUST FRIENDS (GEWOON VRIENDEN) was in the spotlight. Earlier in June, this LGBT movie had its international premiere at the Castro Theater in San Francisco.
ANNE+ premieres at NFF 2018
The six-part short-format series ANNE+ directed by Valerie Bisscheroux and written by Maud Wiemeijer will premiere during the 38th edition of the Dutch Film Festival (NFF). Homosexuality is the background of this universal coming of age story. Anne (Hanna van Vliet) looks back on her love life in her student days. ANNE+ is produced by Millstreet Films in collaboration with the ANNE+ Foundation and BNNVARA.

IN MY FATHER’S HOUSE has Moroccan premiere at FIDA
IN MY FATHER’S HOUSE (IN HET HUIS VAN MIJN VADER), that won a Golden Calf for Best Long Documentary at the NFF in 1997, is finally getting its premiere in Morocco. “The documentary has acquired an almost mythical status for Moroccan film fans, while the film has become no less relevant.” The film tells the personal story of journalist and filmmaker Fatima Jebli Ouazanni (1959). IN MY FATHER’S HOUSE, with sound design by Marco Vermaas, won several prizes including the audience award at idfa 1997.
