Thursday May 24th NOVEMBER will be released in Dutch theaters. Rainer Sarnet's adaptation of Estonian best-seller Rehepapp is full of folk-tale magic and beautiful B&W photography. Winner of Best Cinematography at Tribeca Film Festival NYC 2017. Winner of an EFTA award for Best Sound Design by Marco Vermaas at Estonian Film and Television Awards 2018, among many other awards.

Dutch post-production companies have united in 'Netherlands Post production Alliance' (NPA). The NPA represents the majority of Dutch companies engaged in high-quality image and sound processing and visual effects for feature films, documentaries and high-end TV drama. The association is committed to joint promotion, further professionalisation and wants to be a catalyst in expanding the Netherlands as an internationally renowned post-production country.

SILK ROAD by Mark de Cloe has again been selected for an international film festival, this time for the Berkshire International Film Festival (BIFFMA). The festival will take place in Berkshire Heights, Massachusetts (USA) from May 31st to June 3rd. SILK ROAD is selected for 2 screenings on June 2nd.

ANNE+ by Valerie Bisscheroux are stories about Anne (Hanna van Vliet) a lesbian twenty-something-year-old student in Amsterdam. In this coming-of-age series, every episode reflects on another girl she has dated. We follow Anne’s development over four years, get to know her friends and discover how different relationships have shaped her into the person she is now. The world premiere will be with 3 episodes at te Festival SERIES MANIA in Lille, May 4th.

As you can see, we are working very hard on the mix of THE MIRACLE OF THE SARGASSO SEA with Greek director Syllas Tzoumerkas. After A BLAST this is the second feature film of Syllas that we are working on.

NOVEMBER had its Dutch premiere at the Imagine Film Festival in Eye, Amsterdam. Writer/director Rainer Sarnet was present for a Q&A. Most members of the Studio Vermaas sound team were also present: Marcel Huibers (dialog edit), Ronnie van der Veer (foley), Tom Nestelaar (foley mixer) and of course Marco Vermaas (Sound Design and Mix). NOVEMBER will be released in the Netherlands in 11 theaters by May 24th.

RIPHAGEN is nominated for ‘best mini series non English language’ at the BANFF Rockie Awards 2018, held in the Canadian Rocky Mountains. This prestigious festival is known as ‘the Olympic Games for Television’. Hundreds of television and digital formats battle for a Rockie Award in different categories. We wish RIPHAGEN (VPRO) the best of luck at the draw this June 11th.

Marco Vermaas wins Estonian Film & Television Award for Sound Design on the feature NOVEMBER. The EFTA awards are a grand spectacle in Estonia and broadcast live on 3 channels. NOVEMBER also got the award for best film and best director. In total the film won 8 from the 10 nominations. Dutch premiere will be at Imagine Film Festival in Eye, April 15th.

Telefilm BILLY by Theo Maassen has Audio Description with the voice of Julika Marijn. Ventriloquist Gerard is constantly in dispute with his doll Billy. Mostly because cheeky Billy is more popular than Gerard. Moreover, they both fall in love with completely different women. BILLY can be seen on NPO 3 Sunday March 25 at 8.25 pm and Friday March 30 at 10 pm.

IN BLUE is selected for the Istanbul International Film Festival (iKSV), 6-17 April. Bogdan Iancu will be present at the screening.
