Feature film SPEAK NO EVIL by Danish director Christian Tafdrup has arrived at Studio Vermaas for Sound Design. After they met on a vacation in Tuscany a Danish family goes to Holland to visit their new Dutch friends (played by real life couple Karina Smulders & Fedja van Huêt). In this psychological horror film things gradually get out of hand.

Fantasy feature film SANS SOLEIL (WITHOUT SUN) by Banu Akseki has had Sound Design at Studio Vermaas in Amsterdam and its Mix in Brussels. Belgian, French, Dutch produced SANS SOLEIL will be released in 2021.

Telefilm THE COLUMNIST (DE KUTHOER) by Ivo van Aart is doing well among horror fans around the world. The film was screened at festivals in Germany, Canada, UK, Rumania, Norway and the USA. At Fantasia Festival in Montreal it got the Audience Award. THE COLUMNIST has been sold to distributors for USA, Canada, Spain, UK, Australia, New Zealand and South Korea.

UK Film Festival selected FAMILY MATTERS (HEMELRIJKEN) by Stanley Kolk. The film will be in competition for Best Feature. The festival is from November 22 till 29.

Cinemas are closed, but fortunately MARIONETTE the mind bending thriller by Elbert van Strien can be seen at pathe-thuis.nl. As of today, the movie is Number 1 in the VOD Top 20.

DRAGEVOKTERENS JUL (THE DRAGONKEEPER’S CHRISTMAS) by Katarina Launing is a Norwegian-Dutch-Czech coproduction. It is the first film with a VFX-creature produced in the Netherlands. Visual Effects came from Dutch studio Planet X and Sound Design was done by Studio Vermaas. The film will get its Norwegian premiere November 13th. THE DRAGONKEEPER’S CHRISTMAS will be released in the Netherlands right before Xmas 2021.
