Two tv series have a chance to win the Prix Europe in the category tv-fiction. Thriller series MORTEN by Jean van de Velde, produced by Paul Voorthuysen and lhbt series ANNE+ by Valerie Bisscheroux, produced by Millstreet Films are in the race. The prestigious media prizes will be awarded in Potsdam, Germany by October 11th.

We are mixing the absurdist horror Telefilm DE KUTHOER (THE COLUMNIST) by Ivo van Aart starring Katja Herbers. After a few roles in Hollywood (e.g. Westworld, Manhattan and The Americans) Herbers returns to The Netherlands to play Femke, a columnist and author, who is receiving a constant stream of horrible Twitter messages, including insults and even death wishes. Femke snaps and decides to seek revenge. DE KUTHOER (THE COLUMNIST) can be seen on BNNVARA by spring in 2020.

Syllas Tzoumerkas' ΤHE MIRACLE OF THE SARGASSO SEA can be seen in German cinemas from September 12th. The film will be screened in Berlin, Köln, Munich, Frankfurt, Hamburg, Leipzig, Hannover, Kiel, Bremen, and many more cities.

Mischa Kamp’s film KAPSALON ROMY (ROMY’S SALON) has won a Special Award for the Most “Determined” Film at the Giffoni International Film Festival in Giffoni Valle Piana.

At the Tel Aviv International Children’s Film Festival, the Children’s Jury and the International Jury awarded KAPSALON ROMY (ROMY’S SALON) by Mischa Kamp with BEST FEATURE FILM. KAPSALON ROMY (ROMY’S SALON) will not compete at the NFF (Nederlands Film Festival) by the end of September because it will only be released in Dutch theaters by October 2nd.

The complete first season of ANNE+ by Valerie Bisscheroux was screened at Toronto’s Inside Out LGBT Festival. Writer Maud Wiemeijer is glad to have met Florence Gagnon of the web series Féminin/Féminin; the inspiration to ANNE+ that will get a second season in The Netherlands.

Short film L’ÉTÉ ET TOUT LE RESTE by Sven Bresser is screened in Norway and France this weekend. At Kortfilmfestivalen in Grimstad and at Le Court Nous Tient in Paris.

Bogdan Iancu and Maria Kraakman are back on the silver screen in three time Golden Calf Winner IN BLUE. De Meervaart Theater in Amsterdam New West will screen the film again Wednesday June 18 at 7.30 pm.
