Amazon Prime has bought the worldwide rights of NIEUWE BUREN (THE NEIGHBORS), The American company has selected the series for ‘Amazon Prime brings EU TV shows to the world’. So far, two seasons of the series have been released. Studio Vermaas is currently working on sound design and mix for the 3rd season. Trailer and more info will follow soon. NIEUWE BUREN 3 (THE NEIGHBORS 3) can be seen on Videoland by early next year.

Studio Vermaas is working on the sound design of the 10 episode third season of SMERIS (FORCE). Shrewd police inspector Kamp (Jeroen van Koningsbrugge) again teams up with straight edged Niessen (Dennis van de Ven) in Tilburg. This time, they unexpectedly end up in the middle of a gang war and need to put everything at stake if they are to survive the chaos they've gotten themselves into. With new character Laura den Dooyer (Susan Visser) as the charming journalist from Brabant TV.

Stanley Kolk's Telefilm THE RETURN OF THE HONEY BUZZARD is the winner of two awards at the 2nd Slemani International Film Festival in Iraq. The film won the award for Best Feature Film in the International Competition and Benja Bruijning got the award for Best Actor in a feature film. Due to the referendum on the independence of the autonomous Kurdish region and flight restrictions over Iraq, Stanley Kolk and Benja Bruijning were unable to receive the prizes in person.

Studio Vermaas is starting sound design on the 4th season of crime series SMERIS (FORCE) with Jeroen van Koningsbrugge and Dennis van de Ven. Jack-of-all-trades van Koningsbrugge co-wrote the scripts and directed 3 of the 10 episodes. Actresses Kiki van Deursen and Susan Visser will also return in the new season, together with quite a few new characters, as promised by Jeroen in a press release. SMERIS (FORCE) will be back on Dutch TV (NPO 3) by January 21st 2018.

IN BLUE has won the Narrative Feature Award for Best Film at the Austin Film Festival. Screenwriter Jan Willem den Bok was present to receive the prize and the AFF statue. Director/co-writer Jaap van Heusden and leading actress Maria Kraakman are in Rome, where the film will be screened at the prestigious Roma Cinema Fest this Sunday. IN BLUE is still showing in Dutch theaters.

NOVEMBER by Rainer Sarnet is Estonia's 15th foreign-language Oscar submission since 1992. The film is set in an impoverished Estonian hamlet, mixing magic, black humor and romantic love and drawing on Estonian pagan and European Christian mythologies. The movie premiered internationally at this year's Tribeca Film Festival, where it won the award for best cinematography in an international narrative feature.

Jaap van Heusden’s IN BLUE is selected in the competition of the prestigious Rome Film Fest. New films in the competition are made by the likes of Steven Soderbergh, Kathryn Bigelow and Richard Linklater as announced by distributor Paradiso Films and producer IJswater Films. Van Heusden and lead actress Maria Kraakman will attend the festival that will be held from Oct. 26th untill Nov. 5th 2017.

VOETBALMAFFIA (FOUL PLAY) by Mark de Cloe and Iván López Núñez, an 8 episodes drama series about the world of football and match fixing, will be broadcast by KRO-NCRV on NPO3 at 8.25 pm, every Sunday from November 5th.

Studio Vermaas has started sound design for GELUKZOEKERS (FORTUNE-SEEKERS) by Hanro Smitsman. This Telefilm comedy tells the story of a Syrian refugee (Jouman Fattal) who meets a young man (David Elsendoorn) from a small town in the Dutch province of Groningen. They fall in love and start a relationship, despite all the obstacles and setbacks they encounter. GELUKZOEKERS produced by Corrino Films will be broadcast by VPRO, early next year.

Production company Family Affair Films announces: 'Our TV Movie THE RETURN OF THE HONEY BUZZARD is selected for the feature film competition of the Slemani Film Festival in Iraq in October 2017. The film is directed by Stanley Kolk and written by Philip Delmaar. The story is based on the graphic novel by Aimee de Jongh. Co-producer is AVROTROS.'
